KEEP YOUR SKIN YOUNG THIS SUMMER

With the start of summer only 2 weeks away, gyms are full and people are desperately trying to get into shape before they hit the beach. An often overlooked aspect of the summer grooming package is how we treat our skin, and specifically how nutrients affect skin-cell integrity. To keep your skin looking healthy this summer, it's worth taking a look at the benefits of grape seeds.

Grape seeds are rich in dynamic antioxidants called oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPC's), which are a key weapon in the fight against free radicals. Free radicals can wreak havoc on our skin and often appear in several forms. For some, skin colour may change (brown spots), while for others, skin elasticity may break down, resulting in loose or saggy skin. They can also attack the collagen in skin, leading to wrinkles. Free radicals are often formed by excess sun exposure as well as pollution such as smog, dust and cigarette smoke.

The OPCs in grape seeds are incredibly effective in intercepting free radical molecules, helping to terminate the chain before our healthy molecules are damaged. OPCs do a great job in helping to prevent a loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin, leading to skin that maintains its brightness, moisture content and firmness. Grape seed extract is effective for both men and women of all skin types.

Grape seed extract (directly from grape seeds) is available as a full Ctomi supplement (Grape Seed) or can be found in oil form in our Collagen & Grape SeedGinkgo Biloba, Saw Palmetto, BilberryCoQ10 and Eye Serum products. Give grape seeds a go this summer, your skin will thank you for it!
